"It's a Garden Party" Row Along blog hop

So now that I have a blog, I get to participate in my first blog hop.  Yippee!   This hop is called Row Along and it's going to be sew much fun! As you can see, the theme is "It's a Garden Party" and the hop starts September 8th.  For 6 weeks, you get to hop through 50 different blogs and collect a free row pattern at each one.  How awesome is that!  The row patterns come in different sizes and can be used individually to make smaller wall quilts or combined to make larger quilts.  I've seen previews of the different patterns and they are ADORABLE!!  Each week a different group of blogs and patterns will be featured, and those patterns will be free for that week. It gets even better!  There will also be some AWESOME prize giveaways during the blog hop that you don't want to miss!  Some of the sponsors providing prizes are Northcott Fabrics, Hobbs Batting, Timeless Treasures, Electric Quilt, Fat Quarter Shop, C&T Publishing, and several more.  Wow!   The pa

One Fabric Quilts? Say What?!

For some quilters, picking out fabrics for their next quilt is a daunting task.  It can be a struggle to pick the right colors with the right amount of contrast, and you're frustrated before you even begin sewing.  Personally, I LOVE picking out and coordinating fabrics!  If there was a job opening for a position like that, I'd be all over it.  Picking out and matching up fabrics all day? You bet! (*swoon*) So for those of you that don't like to figure out what fabrics to put together, I have a unique solution for you (for those of you who like choosing fabrics, this is still a cool technique that you will enjoy!).  What if I told you that you could make awesome quilts with only one fabric?  AND that it would be super easy but look really impressive?  Well, hold on to your hats, because I'm going to show you how to do just that. First, you need to pick out a colorful striped fabric.  This kind of fabric will give you the visual wow you would normally get from traditiona

Connect with Other Quilters through Videos

The Covid pandemic has had quite an impact on how we should or shouldn't interact with others.  So many quilt shows, classes, meetings and other events have been cancelled, and we find ourselves spending a LOT of time at home missing that connection with other quilters. 😢 So several of us quilt designers have joined forces to offer an alternative to in person activities.  Each month we're offering a free round up of short video demos on Facebook that we call the Designers Tips and Techniques Show.  We share our best tips and techniques with you by having a special "video hop" each month.  It's similar to a blog hop, but it's all live video demos on our Facebook pages.  It's a three day schedule with a different designer at the top of each hour, and we cover a wide range of sewing and quilting topics.  Because it's live, you can comment or ask questions and we can respond right back.  So awesome!   I've seen some of the coolest tips from all of the
